Hello loves,
Today I wanted to do a little something different on the blog. If you guys saw my monthly favorites post that went up early this week (you can check it out here) than you saw that I purposely left out any book favorites for the month. I think I am going to start a new monthly favorites on my blog called a book update. So every month, I will have a book update where I talk about the books I read that month, give little mini reviews, and mention any new favorites that are reading related that I like. Let me know in the comments below if you guys enjoy this and if you do want to see one every month and it will become a new series on my blog!

Overdrive App
My reading favorite for January and February has been this app called overdrive. I got this app on my kindle, but you can get it on your nook, iPhone, or even your iPod. This app is completely free and all you need is a library card! Overdrive allows you to download and borrow books, audiobooks, movies, magazines, etc. from your local library and keep them on your ereader, phone, or iPod for up to 3 weeks. This is how I have reading a lot of my books lately because I can borrow books for absolutely free without having to go to my local library and have them on my ereader. You can download up to 50 items and have them all there in your overdrive library. I can not speak highly enough about this app and if you are an avid reader who doesn't like to lug around a whole bunch of books or break your bank by purchasing all the books you want to read, I would totally recommend this app to you!
Beautiful Creatures Series By Kami Garcia And Margaret Stohl
I read the entire Beautiful Creatures series in about the first two weeks of January! I just could not put this series down. This series about a southern boy who hates the south named Ethan who falls in love with a Caster girl named Lena and their fight to be together despite the odds that are stacked against them. Sounds cheesy and unoriginal right? But I loved it and it was surprisingly very different from any paranormal love story I have every read, especially since its in a male perspective. I love this series and highly recommend it to all my paranormal or romance story lovers out there.
Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson
This year, I decided that I was going to reread this amazing series by James Patterson. Maximum Ride is about an amazing rag tag team of flying kids that are on a mission to save the world and be free. I love this series so much and I am so excited to reread the whole series. I got through the first three books in January and February and its been great to re-meet all the characters and see their struggles and kind of get a new stand point on everything since I have a new perspective reading this than 12 year old me had. If you haven't read this series yet or are thinking about rereading, I highly recommend it.
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) By Mindy Kaling
If you know me in real life or having been following me for a long time, then you know I have a total girl crush on Mindy Kaling. I love her in the Mindy Project and think she is just an amazing person and inspiration. I finally got around to start reading her books and I wanted to go in chronological order so I started with this one. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me the first book she published and I loved it. It talks about her struggle of making friends, losing friends, popularity, body image, bullying, etc. I definitely recommend this for the preteens and teenage ladies out there that are struggling with the same issues because its super inspirational and understandable.
Well that is all! Please let me know in the comments if you enjoyed this post and if this something you want to see every month! Also what books are you loving and reading this month? Please leave me some recommendations in the comments below so that I can check them out. That's all for now and make sure you come back on Sunday for another #xoxoplanning video. Have a wonderful day :D
