Hey guys!,
Last week on inspire Sunday, we talked about what a
positive attitude means and coming up with our own definition of what a positive
attitude is and looks like. This week we are going to talk about the first part
out of two to start to obtain our own positive attitude. But before we start,
please note that it is harder than it seems. Be patient and don't rush. In the
end it will be worth the work!

The first part to getting that positive attitude and being an optimistic person
is, if you couldn't already tell from the quote above, to purge yourself of all
the negative things in your life. Now this could be negative people or negative
thoughts. The point is-- anything or anyone that makes you feel uncomfortable,
sad, or brings you down, get rid of. This can be hard because you are giving
something your used to or that you have been exposed to your whole life. But
trust me, once you do a load is lifted off your shoulders.
Another
problem you can run into in this step is your giving up people in your life
which can be difficult for you and that person plus cause drama. To avoid this
don't just stop talking to this person. Calmly tell them that you make them
uncomfortable or sad and negative and that they need to change or get out of
your life. There are some people that you can't totally get away from as well.
Like family members or classmates. For this try to distance yourself away from
that person as much as possible so they have little to no affect on you.

Purging is probably the hardest step, but I promise you
will notice a huge difference once you take the plunge.
