Hey guys,
Now I don't know about you, but summer is defiantly the time where I get all of my traveling done. So it is no surprise that I am going on a road trip this Thursday! I am going down to North Carolina and possible Virginia to see my family, see my older cousin graduate, and say my goodbye's to my extended family. I will be moving to Las Vegas this summer and moving in with my dad. So that will be something new but I am super excited so if you want to see some moving updates or blog post on moving tips-- leave a comment for me down below, but this post is all about my top 5 road trip essentials.

is 1. Food
This is an essential for any trip, but especially on a road trip you don't want to have to keep stopping for food all the time, so bring some with you!
2. Entertainment
From Chicago to North Carolina is a 16 hour car ride so entertainment is absolutely necessary so I am not completely bored out of my mind! I tend to bring my phone, kindle, any current books I am reading, and my laptop in case we stop any where with Wi-Fi.
3. Blanket and Pillow
Like I said, I shall be going on a 16 hour ride, and I am usually asleep for half of it so a blanket and a neck pillow tend to be essential to be comfortable while catching some z's without waking up with cricks in my neck!
4. On the go Toiletry Bag
Some times, since this road trip is extremely long, we stop at motels for a night then get back on the road the next morning. For situations like these I bring an on the go toiletry bag so that I don't have to pull out and dig through my entire suitcase just to brush my teeth and take a shower. In this bag I tend to bring shower gel, deodorant, perfume, toothpaste and a toothbrush, and any thing I might need for my hair. If you know that your trip is a couple days long like 2-3 nights I would also pack a separate bag with clothes in it that is separate form your suitcase so you are all prepared for the motel nights. Plus this is just nice to have to freshen up after a long trip when you reach your destination.
5. Journal and Camera
Though we don't stop very often, when we do we sometimes see really cool things so I always bring some type of camera (even if it is just my phone) and a journal so that I can record and remember the road trip which includes the car ride because sometimes the journey is the funniest part!
