Hello loves,
Welcome to the first post for Homecoming October. And I figured this would be the best post to start off with because you know you have to shave and go dress shopping and get your nails and makeup done, maybe even get your hair done by a professional, but I wanted to share a couple (five to be exact :D see what I did there?) things that are "non essential" but also kind of necessary.
1. Hair Treatment
No one wants dingy hair for homecoming! A hair mask, a deep conditioning treatment, or even a hot oil treatment would do wonders for your hair so you can ensure your hair looks as amazing as your dress!
2. Mask
A mask is like the best thing, for me anyhow, to prep my skin for a big event like this. You could do an overnight mask the night before or a quick clay mask (clay mask are the best cause they deep clean and suck all the impurities out of your face) the day of, and voila! Your skin is prepped and feels amazeballs and ready for makeup!
3. Teeth Whitening
Since you are going to be taking a crap ton of pictures, you just got to have your pearly whites-- white. You can use a gradual treatment (like a daily solution or the baking soda trick) or if you want to crunch one in at the last minute, you can use the 2 hour strips (which I wouldn't recommend because it makes your teeth super sensitive!)
4. Cleanse
I am not talking about your face because we already got that covered, I am talking about your body. I mean, do you really want to be bloated during your homecoming? Trust me, no you don't! You want to feel your best as well as look your best. So take a 1 day cleanse. I wouldn't recommend anything longer than that because you don't really want to stuff your face while your eating out with your friends or your hot date, and one day is really enough!
5. Day plan
The last tip is to create a day plan. Now, you don't have to be super detailed and plan out every minute leading up to homecoming, but know what your doing and who your doing it with. If you decide to go to the homecoming parade or game-- make sure you know who's going with you and if you'll have time to go home and change into your dress. If your going to someone else's house to get ready, make sure you have everything packed and don't leave anything at home. Maybe you decided that you and your friends are going out to eat before swinging by the dance, make sure you know who's paying so you don't have to stay behind and scrub dishes in your $100 dress. Make sure the essentials are planned out so you can enjoy the day, problem free.
