Hey guys,
I am super excited to be reviewing this movie! Now if you haven't read or heard of divergent (have you been living under a rock?!) its set in Chicago, the only city that survived a war that happened 100 years ago. To reserve peace, they are divided into 5 factions: Candor; the honest, Amity; the
kind, Abnegation; the selfless, Erudite; the intelligent, and Dauntless; the brave. Our main character is Beatrice, who is just turned 16 and is about to take the test. The test is supposed to tell you the faction you belong to, which Beatrice is really counting on. However, her test comes out inconclusive, a
highly rare (actually not so rare) case. She can be in more than one faction-- three in fact: Erudite, Dauntless, and Abnegation. They call it Divergent.

When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I didn't look anything like the book. Which scared the hell out of me! Yet I still decided to give the movie a chance because looks can be deceiving. And Im so glad I did! This movie was amazing!
First, kudos to the actors. Throughout reading the book, I noticed the author played with a lot of hidden emotions that they betrayed through thoughts. I thought the actors did that really well with body language and facial expressions. They really captured the characters really well, from personality type to actual looks. Which is really hard to do considering the amazing job Veronica Roth did with developing these characters. Especially the main characters: Tris(Shailene Woodley and Four (Theo James)
Second, kudos to the director (Neil Burger) and producers. They did a wonderful job changing up some of the details and cutting these out to keep it young and fresh for those who read the novel, yet still keeping the main points from the book in the movie. Did you watch the movie or read the book? Which one did you like more?
